Twin Earthquake hits Batangas, felt in Metro and nearby provinces

Twin earthquake reported: Magnitude 5.7 at Bagalangit (Mabini, Batangas), Magnitude 5.9 at Talaga,Tanauan, Batangas. Quake generated 40 aftershocks.

Earthquake was also felt in Metro Manila, Laguna, Cavite, and Bataan. Some areas around Manila experience power outage after the earthquake. (Manila Bulletin)

The United States Geological Survey reported that the first quake, with magnitude 5.7 and a depth of 40.4 kilometers, struck at 3:08 p.m. east-northeast of Barangay Bagalangit in Mabini, Batangas.

The epicenter of the second one (magnitude 5.9) was traced to be 42.7 km deep and one kilometer south-southwest of Barangay Talaga in Tanauan, Batangas and struck a minute after the first one, at 3:09 p.m. (GMA News)
